I spent two weeks in China at the end of May. I met some amazing people, heard some beautiful music, and saw some wonderful sites. Everything, the people, the music, and the sites remind me over and over of God's amazing Grace.

I met a group of collegiate professors, who used their own savings to create a children's choir organization. They all are Christians, and they meet every morning to sing hymns. They have over 200 children now registered in their organization and rehearse these children AFTER they get off work for their universities. The young man in the picture belongs to one of the university choirs, his professor (who is the only woman in this group) rehearses the choir for free. This young man, out of his love for choral music, donate his business resources to do advertisement for these professors. We had several meals together, talking about faith, choral music, and jazz... Laughter never left the table.

The West Lake - where madame White Snake met her husband, XuXian. The saga of their love story inspired so many artists, including the genius Zhou Long, who won a Pulitzer for his opera "Madame White Snake". Mr. Zhao, the young graduate, took me for a stroll by the lake in the afternoon and evening. Mist hovers atop the water, the hills-like shy maidens- peek out their shapes once a while, then quickly disappear. When the sun fully set, under the moon light, the outline of them become even more allusive, beckon me to come closer...

I met a group of ladies from the Li ethnic group living near the Xiang River in Hainan islands. They are not use to wear shoes, which enabled me to free my feet during my teaching (yes, I don't like shoes either). While they are not at all musically literate, their faith is quite strong. They spoke their mind at all times, which brought great joy to my teaching. Their faces are always filled with sweet smile. They never coward away from a challenge, and never towered over anyone either. They brought an outfit for me to try, an outfit that took someone few months to make...

In the center of Hainan University is an island formed by Mangrove. Many sea birds nest on the island. They fly away only to come back in droves at dusk. The school property is also filled with many fruit trees, which the students felt free to pick and eat. Every morning I awoke to the chatting of birds and cicadas - no need for any alarm.

The amazing Grace of God is evident in the beauty of the world and His people. How insignificant we are, yet He still uses us to deliver His abundant Grace. My life is an endless song, Alleluia!
